December 2018 – A Bird on Your Shoulder

A Bird On Your Shoulder: Freedom From the Fear of Dying
December, 2018

Summary:

Anandamayi Ma, the great Indian saint, recommended that we live our lives like a birds on a dry twig, ready to take flight at any moment. When we live with grounded awareness of our impermanence, we actually feel lightened, buoyant, even free in the vivid awareness of the present moment. In this final Seekers Session of 2018, Mark talks about how we learn to take flight, spiritually, as numinous beings in physical bodies. How do we live with the poignant awareness that although we die, we are already free? How can we keep that bird of levity on our shoulder?

Seekers Session Live Teleconference

Be a part of Mark’s Contemplation Group
January 1, 2019 – March 31, 2019

On January 1, I’m starting a three-month daily contemplation group using the St. Francis prayer. Everyone who signs up will be committing to a 15-minute per day practice of reciting and reflecting on the prayer, and an optional 10-15 minute journaling session to make notes on your daily experience. Once a month, we will meet for an optional one-hour video teleconference to talk about the practice and offer each other support and inspiration. I hope you can join us.
