Though popular culture has been infiltrated by ancient teachings on mindfulness, many continue to underestimate the importance of Emerson’s insight that, “A man is what he thinks about all day long.” In this month’s edition of The Seekers Forum, we’ll explore the timeless relationship between what we think and who we are, and why mental preoccupations dictate personal identity. How is it that thoughts determine our fate? Why are we taught by some philosophical systems that although there are thoughts, there is no thinker? What does mental mastery mean, and how might the ability to control our thinking revolutionize our daily lives? These are some of the questions we’ll be exploring in this month’s Seekers Session.
