How the Guided Writing Session Directory Works

Welcome to The Seekers Forum Guided Writing Session Directory. Please read this post on how the Directory works as well as the Submission and Usage Guidelines. Next read the Navigating the Guided Writing Session Directory post to familiarize yourself with the platform and step-by-step instructions on how to post your writing.

How it Works:

On the day following each Guided Writing Session, links to the session recording and writing prompts from the session will be posted in the corresponding monthly folder. There is no right way to respond to these questions. Choose the prompts that resonate with you and give yourself free reign to explore them in any way you’d like. Please limit your submissions to 1,000 words in order to create a more focused, clear and legible piece for your fellow seekers.

Posting Your Writing:

Responses to Guided Writing Session prompts or other submissions inspired by the month's program should be posted in the corresponding folder. Writing you would like to share unrelated to the theme of the month should be posted in the Independent Entries Folder.

Members are invited to read and comment on each other’s work. Remember that The Seekers Forum is a non-sectarian, judgment-free zone for people of all backgrounds. Please limit your remarks to positive feedback and questions. Negative or derogatory comments will not be tolerated. We welcome different views and opinions, but please be respectful of your fellow members. The writing we share on The Seekers Forum is private. Nothing you read here may be shared outside our community without the writer’s permission.

Although all submissions are reviewed for content by members of our team, there will be no written feedback from Mark. Occasionally, he will choose a piece of writing to share with the larger group with permission. The Writers Circle is a place for TSF members to convene, share, inspire, question, and support each other through their love of writing. Please email us with any concerns or questions.

Guidelines:

Please adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Limit your submissions to 1,000 words (four double-spaced pages).
  • Submissions should be as easy-to-read as possible. Please take the time to edit your writing for spelling, grammar, and clarity.
  • No criticism or negative commentary of other members’ work is permitted. This is not the place for criticism or judgmental commentary. The goal is not literary excellence (though sparkling prose is always welcome); instead, our intention is to be truthful, clear, and sincere in our self-inquiry. You need not be an accomplished writer to participate in the Guided Writing Sessions.
  • No unsolicited advice please. We are not here to be each other’s therapist, priest, or unsolicited spiritual guide. Unless members ask for outside input, please keep your personal views to yourself.
  • Do not post work unrelated to the month’s topic to the Guided Writing Session folders. Those who wish to share miscellaneous writing, or other creative work, can do so on the Facebook Group page.
  • No commercial posts of any kind.

  • Do not send attachments to the group.

  • No copyrighted material.

  • Derogatory and insulting personal comments are unacceptable, as is abusive language.

  • Participants in discussions that have veered toward the purely personal will be asked to take their correspondence to private email.

Violations of these guidelines will result in possible removal from The Seekers Forum.

We hope you find The Guided Writing Sessions of great value and a source of continued inspiration.
