Writing Prompts
1. Do you have a secret life, a dimension of your being that you share with no one? If so, describe this secret part? If not, why not?
- What were you taught as a child about keeping secrets?
- What is it about this secret life that gives you pleasure, satisfaction, a feeling of self connection?
- What did you learn about keeping secrets as a child?
- Is this secret life connected in any way to your spirituality?
2. Do you share with others when you don't want to, feel guilty for keeping things to yourself, or question your right to privacy? If so, when and why?
- When do you confuse self-containment or self-possession with selfishness?
- How are you about boundaries in general, and saying “this is mine, come no closer.”
- Does oversharing ever get you in trouble?
