Writing Prompts
1. When it comes to spiritual teaching are you seeking truth or consolation? Do you want to wake up or just feel better?
- Do you want to be challenged on the spiritual path and if so, what areas in particularly?
- Is it hard for you to surrender to spiritual authority? Why or why not?
- Have you ever rejected a teacher or teaching when they told you something you really didn't want to hear?
2. Are you idealistic about spiritual enlightenment? What do you believe it means? Be specific.
- How do you think that spiritual enlightenment can change your life?
- Do you view enlightenment as a permanent state or as a work in progress?
- In your experience does spiritual insight solve emotional problems?
- If enlightenment could free you from one thing in your life what would that be?
