Life is enough of a risk.

This Pandemic suddenly made us face all our fears and grief and uncertainties at the same time. Fear of death, fear of poverty, fear of losing our freedom, fear of all those things that we cannot control. The deep silence that arises in this loneliness is entangled in this huge connection of sharing the same experience with the rest of the world.

The illusion of control and just all the noise that we carry in our heads that we can no longer escape from. Suddenly it's ok to be vulnerable, suddenly we have to accept that we never were in control.

There is always a bit of risk in trust and yet still, in moments like this, we have no other option. We are forced to trust the invisible net that holds us all.  Every day the world keeps falling apart and every day as I take my coffee looking out through my window, I see the beauty of life in this unshakable blue sky.

There is always a sense of risk when we are forced inside our deepest feelings, the insecurity that lays under our anxieties confronts us with our fear of maybe losing our way.   This oxygen that we are all grasping for is the same oxygen that we share with all human beings. Suddenly we realize that we are all breathing at the same time.

Dear Maite,

Thanks for these lyrical thoughts on this challenging time (I especially liked "this unshakable blue sky").  Like you, I'm struck especially by the unprecedented fact that the entire human species is considering death and mortal danger at the same time all over the planet.  This is extraordinary and offers spiritual possibilities never seen before, though it seems we'll have to burn through quite a lot of our tribalism, competition, greed, and denial before a worldwide epiphany happens. Still, there's hope!

It's good to have you with us in The Seekers Forum. Take good care of yourself!

Maite,

I enjoyed the calm of your piece, especially your note that we have never been in control, and being forced to trust “ in the invisible net that holds us all”.  You acknowledge the challenges of the time, and point to our connections as ways to carry ourselves through.  And I especially appreciated your last lines, “Suddenly, we realize that we are all breathing at the same time”.  What a beautiful thought.  Thank you for sharing.

Dear Devon,

Thank you for your comments on my piece, I think that one of the beauties of writing is being able to share our stories with others. When we get to connect with others through our stories, in a certain way, all these stories get expanded, they grow. 🙂

Dear Mark,

Thank you for your comments. I agree change doesn't always come as fast as we would hope so, It seems that while half the population expects this blow to move us forward, the other half wants to return to the same old world. It's going to be quiet a dance for a while, this tug of war between energies. After all, facing death is facing how we live.

Thank you for having me in The Seekers Forum. Take care  🙂

Maite,

As you write about the world thinking about the same thing it opened my eyes to what is possible if instead of fear and divisiveness, we sought unity and wholeness. Your piece stands out for its honesty and bravery. Thank you for posting it.
